Danica McKellar: Math Nerds Are Hot

Everyone remembers Danica McKellar as Winnie Cooper on “The Wonder Years” back in the ’80’s.
Danica is all grown up now, and is still acting. Recently she has appeared in episodes of “NYPD Blue,” and “How I Met Your Mother” Ms. McKellar also stars as Maddie Monroe, in “Inspector Mom” and is appearing in a movie called “Hack.” In Danica’s other life she is a Mathematics whiz. Dainica graduated Suma Cum Laude in 1998 from UCLA with a degree in Mathematics. Ms. McKellar is the author of a book called “Math Doesn’t Suck” and even has her a Mathematical Therom that she worked on called the “Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem.” Danica tells girls that’s its ok to be “Hot” and fabulous, but at the same time it’s OK to develope your brain as well. Danica did an ultra sexy lingerie shoot for Stuff magazine a couple of years ago. Here are the pics along with some others. Beauty and Brains. Not bad.

Danica Mae McKellar (born January 3, 1975) is an American actress, mathematics author and education advocate. She is best known for her role as Winnie Cooper in the television show The Wonder Years,[1] and now as author of the two New York Times bestsellers,[2] Math Doesn't Suck, and Kiss My Math, which encourage middle-school girls to learn math.[3]

Born in La Jolla, California, McKellar moved with her family to Los Angeles when she was eight. Her family is "a big mix of Western Europe."[4] Her mother's ancestry is Portuguese via the Azores and Madeira islands and her father's ancestry is Scottish, French, German and Dutch.[4] McKellar and sister Crystal McKellar both maintained professional acting careers as children, but with a strong emphasis on education as a priority. As a result, Crystal became a lawyer, and Danica majored in mathematics in college.
